Constelations of zodiacal

Aquarius



The ancients described this constellation as a man or boy pouring water from a bucket, and also represents the rainy season.

Aries, Ram



The Golden Fleece award this ram was won by Jason, leader of the Argonauts.

Cancer, Crab



When Hercules was fighting Hydra, Juno sent this crab to attack Hercules. The crab was not successful in his mission, but on the other hand was crushed. But Juno rewarded the crab by placing among the stars.

Capricornus, Capricorn



The last three constellation of the zodiac are located in the region of the sky called the Sea since the early days of old this constellation has been described in the head and body of a goat and tail of a fish. According to one interpretation, the goat, an expert climber, represents the ascension of the sun from its lowest position in the sky, which is located in this constellation. The fish tail may represent the occasional rain.

Scorpius, the Scorpion



According to one account, Apollo, who was responsible for perserving the virginty of his sister Artemis sent the Scorpion to kill Orion. Orion and Scorpius were placed in the sky as far apart as possible, in order to prevent alterations occur including, but Orion Scorpius still haunts the area around ELESTA.

Gemini, Twins



They are pious and even twin half-brothers, according to some. Gemini is the Roman word for the Dioscuri, who in Greek mythology were the sons of Leda, the wife of Tindaro, king of Sparta. While Castor was the son of Tindaro, Pollux way have been the son of Zeus, who would have bestowed immortality. After the death of Castor, Pollux was overcame with pain and wanted to share his immortality with his brother. In the final placing Zeus gathered together in the sky.

Libra, Balance.



This constellation was probably invented when the zodiac was established. Arabic names of the two brightest stars of Libra signify southern claw and claw north, confirming that once was part of Scorpius Libra. The constellation was later associated with the balance held by Astrea goddess of justice.

Pisces, Fish



Venus and Cupid escaped from the monster Typhon (see Pisces Austrinus) dressing to the fish and jumping into the river Euphrates.

Sagittarius



This constellation has been associated with the centaur Chiron, famed for his good aim and their knowledge of medicine and music. Others say that Chiron was a model too civilized for Sagittarius because identified in the sky to guide the Argonauts on their journey to Thessaly.

Leo, Leo



The thick, tough skin of this lion, the fiercest in the world, became the trademark of Hercules, the hero once choked the lion taking his life, which successfully completed is first job.

Taurus, Bull



Zeus disguised himself as a snow-white buññ to thereby attracting to Europe, princess of Phoenicia. Attracted to the animal for its beauty, Europe got on his back. Then Zeus with his passenger swam to Crete, where he reveaked his identity and received favors.

Virgo, Virgin



Virgo has been identified with various heroines. The partnerships with Ceres, goddess of grain, helps explain the name of the brightest star in Virgo, Spica, which means ear of wheat or corn.
